I’m coming from … finishing a masters in choral conducting at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
I’m teaching … choral music.
I’m excited to be at Beaver because … the faculty and staff are intelligent, innovative, and caring. Beaver is a school where the arts are supported well, and I am encouraged to think creatively.

I’m coming from … The Irish International Immigrant Center.
I’m … the front office coordinator.
I’m excited to be at Beaver because … it provides space for creative, innovative, and exciting new ways for students to learn.

I’m coming from … Boston College’s Masters of Education Program in Secondary Education Mathematics. During the summer, I am the Director of the Extended Day program at Beaver Summer Camp.
I’m teaching … upper school math.
I’m excited to be at Beaver because … it is a wonderful and inspiring community that encourages teachers and students to be innovative and allows them to express themselves freely. I look forward to growing in the Beaver community and meeting all of the faculty and students.

I’m coming from … Development Guild/DDI, a national consulting firm based in Boston that provides fundraising and executive search services to nonprofits. I joined the Beaver team in January and am looking forward to my first full school year!
I’m joining … the Philanthropy & Engagement Office as the Engagement and Stewardship Manager.
I’m excited to be at Beaver because … of the amazing community of students, teachers, alumni, and families who are making a positive impact on the world.

I’m coming from … Over the last 11 years, I have held various roles in both public and private schools, where I’ve served as school administrator, teacher, and coach. In addition to my background in education, I have a small event planning and design business I am very passionate about as well.
I’m joining … Beaver’s admission office as the admission coordinator.
I’m excited to be at Beaver because … The school community at Beaver is so welcoming and vibrant. As an advocate for wanting students to have a true sense of belonging, I am very much looking forward to helping families feel comfortable, welcome, and excited for their educational journey ahead.

Kathy Harris – School Nurse

I’m coming from … working in a variety of different settings, rehabilitation facilities, hospitals, and home care. I’ve been in the nursing field over 20 years, with a background in med/surgery.  I have a special interest in mind/body wellness and am a certified yoga instructor.
I’m the … School Nurse and I’m teaching … upper school yoga in the afternoon program Monday through Friday.
I’m excited to be at Beaver because … of the positive community, focus on creative learning, and athletics.

I’m coming from … Brigham and Women’s Hospital’s Development Office.
I’m … the data and campaign manager for the philanthropy & engagement office.
I’m excited to be at Beaver because … I have never worked anywhere with so many happy people – genuinely smiling happy people who WANT to be here.

I’m coming … from New York City, where I taught in a school for teenagers who are professional actors, dancers, musicians, and entrepreneurs.
I’m teaching … upper school Spanish.
I’m excited to be at Beaver because … it’s a place where the whole community embraces new ideas and ways of doing things.

I’m coming from … recently graduating with a master’s degree at the University of Oxford. Before that, I taught for two years in Annapolis, Maryland.
I’m teaching … upper school global history.
I’m excited to be at Beaver because … Beaver cultivates innovative and authentic learning. It has a dynamic and challenging approach, made possible with its supportive and collaborative community.

 

samanthaSamantha Salfity ’07 – Middle School Science

I’m coming from … the traveling programs team at the Museum of Science, Boston. It’s a team dedicated to enriching science curriculum by providing kinesthetic learning throughout New England.
I’m teaching … middle school science.
I’m excited to be at Beaver because … I am returning to my Alma Mater in a new role. Being able to teach a Beaver education to a new round of graduates is exciting.

I’m coming from … Sandy Spring Friends School outside of DC where I’ve been teaching physics and engineering. (Ed note: also a rocket scientist!)
I’m teaching … physics and engineering and coaching the robotics team.
I’m excited to be at Beaver because … I can’t wait to see what amazing programs and creations the Beaver community and I can create together.

I’m coming from … MIT, where I focused on engaging alumni across the US through various programs and initiatives.
I’m joining … Beaver’s philanthropy & engagement office as the associate director of alumni giving and engagement.
I’m excited to be at Beaver because … of the dynamic and vibrant community, as well as the innovative programs that are supported by the school.

I’m coming from … Beaver technology department as well as a diverse background ranging from police officer and insurance rep, among other things.
I’m … the assistant registrar as well as returning boys’ JV head soccer coach.
I’m excited to be at Beaver because … it is a community of educators who put the students at the center of all they do.

 

cassieCassie Sulbarán – Middle School Strings

I’m coming from … Saratoga Springs, NY originally. I did my undergrad at Ithaca College, and my masters and doctorate at the University of Maryland. I also teach at the South Shore Conservatory and in the Braintree Public Schools. I moved to Boston after teaching viola and chamber music for a year at Ithaca College, and love it here!
I’m teaching … middle school strings.
I’m excited to be at Beaver because … this is the first middle/high school I’ve ever wanted to attend myself! The faculty and administration are all so warm and welcoming, and very passionate about teaching and learning.
