Middle School Science Teacher (2012-2013)
Beaver Country Day School, an independent day school in Chestnut Hill, MA (grades 6-12), seeks a full-time Middle School Science teacher. Primary responsibilities will include teaching science in grades 7 and 8. Background and interest in teaching hands-on, inquiry, and project-based science is essential, as is willingness to participate fully in the community beyond the classroom. Candidates with a background in physical science, with a Master’s Degree and/or 2-3 years teaching experience are preferred. Preference will also be given to candidates with experience in curriculum design and in coaching robotics either at the middle or upper school level. Upper School Science Teacher (2012-2013)
Beaver Country Day School, an independent day school in Chestnut Hill, MA (grades 6-12), seeks a full-time upper school science teacher. Willingness to teach a range of science courses, especially those in the biological sciences, and full participation in the community beyond the classroom is essential.
Competitive candidates will be committed to student-centered teaching and will have experience with differentiated instruction, using technology in the classroom, and collaborative learning. Strong interpersonal, organizational and management skills are essential to the role. Finally, candidates should exhibit a passion for working with students at all stages of development and participating fully in the Beaver community. Candidates with a Masters Degree and 3+ years teaching experience and/or experience teaching in a studio environment are preferred. Salary and benefit package is very competitive.

Upper School Spanish Teacher - Maternity Leave Replacement
Beaver Country Day School, an independent day school in Chestnut Hill (grades 6-12) seeks an Upper School Spanish teacher to serve as a maternity leave replacement. The position will begin at the opening of the 2012-2013 school year and continue through December 2012. Responsibilities will include teaching three sections of Spanish level II. Competitive candidates will be committed to student-centered teaching and will have experience with progressive teaching approaches, such as differentiated instruction and collaborative learning. Candidates must be fluent in Spanish and will preferably hold a Masters Degrees in education.

Varsity Cross Country Coach (Fall 2012)
The Beaver Country Day School Athletic Department is seeking a varsity cross country coach for the fall 2012 season.
Practices are from 3:45 – 5:30 Monday – Friday with meets on weekdays and the occasional weekend. The fall season runs from the end of August to early November. Competitive stipend. Candidates must have strong running and/or coaching experience.
