We seek to enroll young people who demonstrate strong academic ability and motivation, intellectual curiosity and creativity, and good character. In making its decisions, the Admission Committee considers a student's school record, results of independent school standardized testing, as well as some combination of talent and interest in student leadership, the arts, athletics, and community involvement.
“We challenge our students intellectually and hold them to the highest standards, and we believe they need to lead balanced, healthy lives. Our approach to teaching, true to our progressive heritage, stresses critical and creative thinking, collaboration, and communication, and better prepares students for college, and life. BCDS is a small, friendly school where each student is known and cared for as an individual.” Peter Hutton, Head of School
Who should come to the interview?
The student should come to the interview along with parent(s)/guardian(s). In families where a student has more than one parent/guardian, not all of the adults in the family are required to attend the interview. Although it is nice when the whole family is able to come, we understand that it is not always possible for everyone to attend.
