Letter from Director of Development
I’m happy to report that as of February 27, we have raised $837,384 for the annual fund. Contributing to this total are Beaver alumni and parents of alumni, grandparents, 100% of the Board of Trustees, and 162 of current families. A big thank you to our senior parents for setting the pace with their giving, which totals $245,616 to date. Our total giving is already ahead of February’s month end from last year and we are excited to build on that momentum. Beaver relies on the annual fund for 7% of our operating budget. The annual fund supports critical expenditures such as faculty salaries and professional development, curriculum innovation, and upgrades and renovations to facilities, providing the margin of excellence in a Beaver education.

Panel Discussion on the Laptop Technology Initiative
Parents and faculty engaged in a thoughtful discussion about the school's technology initiative at the Parent Education Evening on February 24. The event was videotaped and is available to watch online.

Head of School Peter Hutton opened by stressing that requiring laptops and using Web 2.0 technology in classrooms is not going to change the school's approach; rather, he said, the technology initiative is "another way to make Beaver better at being Beaver."
