Located on our Chestnut Hill campus, General Camp offers a fun, well-rounded experience for children ages three through twelve. Campers are placed in coed groups by age, and provided with activities and schedules tailored to meet their needs. An average staff-camper ratio of 1:6 allows counselors to build close relationships with campers and gives each child the attention he or she needs. During activities, counselors assist specialists with instruction. The structure of our activities reflects our understanding that different age groups have different attention spans and motor skills. Younger children follow a pre-established, well-rounded program, and use equipment and field space that have been scaled down to their size. As campers get older, they have more activities to choose from. Middle Campers choose a different activity each period and Upper Campers choose afternoon electives for a whole week. We provide a well-balanced lunch daily and hold cook-outs once a week. (We can also accommodate special diets.)
